Today on Aussie RC Playground, we delve into the thrilling unboxing of the Arma Typhen Grom BLX 2 to 3S, a machine that exudes spontaneity and raw power. Purchased on a whim from Metro Hobbies, this beast comes in three striking colors: red, blue, and silver. While the silver variant skips the battery and charger, the red and blue models come fully equipped for action. With a 2S battery and basic USB charger included, this little car packs a punch, reaching speeds of 35 mph on 2S and a mind-boggling 80 km/h on 3S. Dynamic stability control and an adjustable gyro ensure a thrilling ride, while the aluminum threaded body shocks and hex hardware showcase Arma's attention to detail.
The unboxing reveals a plethora of goodies, from the USB charger to a tool kit with a questionable Allen key. The manual, though thick with multilingual instructions, provides valuable insights into the car's setup and operation. The Spectrum SL2 radio, despite its unassuming appearance, surprises with its comfort and functionality, featuring steering trim, dual rate knob, and speed switch. Adjusting the dynamic stability control is a breeze, with four modes to cater to every driving style.
Moving on to the Typhen Grom itself, the chassis impresses with intricate engravings and a suspension system designed for optimal performance. The absence of body pins in favor of a clip mechanism adds a touch of innovation to the design. Under the hood lies a 2S battery, two-in-one ESC, brushless motor, and steering servo, all contributing to the machine's power and agility. The enclosed chassis and flexible rear wing mount ensure durability and resilience during intense off-road adventures. However, a minor setback arises with the 2S400 milliamp 30C Spectrum Smart G2 battery lacking a balance lead for charging, a detail that may irk some enthusiasts seeking convenience in their RC experience.
